Plan your visit to Fisk University Galleries
Fisk University Galleries include the Carl Van Vechten Gallery, The Aaron Douglas Gallery, and the Aaron Douglas murals. All three are within a short walk of each other. When you arrive at the Carl Van Vechten Gallery one of our Gallery Ambassadors will be happy to direct you to these and other sites on campus.
*The Stieglitz Collection is currently on display at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas until Spring 2024.*
Please note the galleries close for Fisk University holidays (click here for the academic calendar).
Tours & Class Visits: If you would like to schedule a free tour of the exhibitions with one of our Gallery Ambassadors or a class visit with one of our staff members, please call 615-329-8720 or email galleries@fisk.edu.
Parking: Free parking is available right in front of the Carl Van Vechten Gallery. The driveway is on Jackson Street and looks like a sidewalk. Additional parking is available behind the gallery; the entrance to that parking lot is on D.B. Todd, Jr., Blvd. Visitors parking in the lot behind the gallery should inform a Gallery Ambassador upon arrival. This is the best parking lot for visitors requiring wheelchair access; if this is the case, please call when you arrive or send a member of your group to the front entrance so that a Gallery Ambassador or member of staff can greet you and facilitate access. There is also a parking lot across Jackson Street, and there is a crosswalk linking the lot and the gallery.
Located on the corner of Dr. DB Todd Jr Blvd and Jackson Street.
